My latest Bungalows by Barb project is officially underway in Wimberley, and this one is going to be so fun.
I was lucky enough to find this home off MLS, and it checked all the boxes I look for in a high potential remodel. It is a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, approximately 3,000 square foot home with a beautiful golf course lot and a view that immediately makes you want to slow down and stay awhile.
This is a cosmetic renovation, which is exactly my sweet spot. The layout and bones are there, but the home needs a full refresh to bring it to life.
The design direction for this remodel
The vibe is colorful, high end, and unique. Not trendy. Not cookie cutter. I want it to feel elevated and collected, with personality in every room. Think rich color moments, statement lighting, and finishes that feel intentional, layered, and a little unexpected. The goal is for the inside of the home to match the wow factor of that view.
What we tackled this week
This week was heavy demo and space planning, which is where the transformation really starts.
We gutted the entire kitchen and reconfigured the space so it will function better and feel more open. This is one of those changes that affects everything, because when the kitchen flows, the whole house feels different.
We also demoed all of the bathrooms so we can rebuild them the right way. Fresh layout decisions, new finishes, and a look that feels clean but not boring.
What this house needs next
Here is what is on deck as we move from demolition into the rebuild.
Popcorn ceiling removal throughout
New windows
New landscaping that frames the home and the view
New interior doors
All new cabinetry
All new lighting
Right now it is in the messy stage, but this is the moment I love, because you can already see the potential.
Why this one is going to stand out
That golf course lot is the star, and the view deserves a home that feels equally special. My goal is to create spaces that are bright, bold, and polished, with a high end feel and design moments that make it memorable.
I will be sharing before and after photos as we go, plus the real behind the scenes of decisions, finishes, and the little details that take a home from dated to truly one of a kind.
Follow the project
I will keep updating this post with progress photos and reveal moments as each space comes together. If you love colorful, high end design and you want to watch a Wimberley remodel unfold in real time, check back soon.
